Alaïa Paris Review
Hello again, This is just a quick review/my thoughts on the New Alaïa Paris perfume. Here's a description I found on the essential website.
'Alaia Paris Eau de Parfum is a resolutely modern fragrance, crafted from light and shadow with exceptional materials.
In creating his first fragrance, Azzedine Alaia offers an eternal invitation to the Voyage. The result is an artcraft that is emblematic of his rigorous and idiosyncratic behaviour, with undeniable confidence and risk-taking. Just as his fashion sculpts women’s bodies, so too does his fragrance have a transformative action, imposing Beauty as absolute once more.
Alaia Paris opens with a fresh first impression of airborne notes spiced with Pink Pepper, before an abstract heart of Freesia and Peony Blossom on the skin. A base of Animalistic notes is complemented by Musk, bestowing a truly tactile, carnal feel to the dry down.
A fresh impression: Airy notes and Pink Pepper
A floral impression: Freesia and Peony
A bare-skin impression: Animal notes and Musk'
This immediately makes me think of a sexy, sophisticated and fashionable women, wearing all black, heels and sunglasses. Walking with confidence and leaving her beautiful smell trailing behind her.
Defiantly a fragrance for a sophisticated women with a strong character, a women who knows what she wants and how to get it. (Marilyn Monroe also springs to mind)
I got a sample of this and immediately fell in love. I feel the sample was noticeably sweeter or maybe more floral then the actual bottle, but after half an hour of so on my skin the floral was a lot more detectable. It's got a slight masculine, leathery hint to it but that's what makes it sexy. And woah is it sexy. Its mature yet feminine, I feel like it's a signature scent that will stay with you a lifetime and will forever be your scent, that is evocative of you when others smell it.
I would as always recommend smelling this in person and avoid reading reviews on perfume forums, I find people love to over study and pick apart perfumes online, rather then enjoying it for simply how it smells, but I find any smell with personality that isn't the usual sweet and safe scent gets hated on.
The packaging is stunning, the set I bought comes in a simple nude box with black and nude ribbon. The bottle itself is thick, black glass with laser cut out detailing. A golden lid with swirl effect detail that adds a bit of prettiness to the bottle. I love it and think it suits the perfumes mysterious and sexiness perfectly.
Have you smelt this? What are your thoughts
